Basic Responsibilities A. Provide support in the administration of the benefits offered at ACU
B. Respond to benefits concerns from individual faculty and staff members
C. Process vendor bills for benefits
D. Other duties as assigned
Essential Duties

A. Provide support in the administration of the benefits offered at ACU
1. Enroll and dis-enroll employees and their dependents from the various insurance products due to qualifying events
2. Assist in conducting an annual Open Enrollment period
3. Work closely with the payroll department to ensure accurate deductions are reflected in the payroll system
4. Track FMLA and other leaves for ACU faculty and staff members
5. Process Texas Workforce Commission unemployment benefits
6. Oversee the Abundant Life wellness program by working closely with the Director of Student Recreations & Wellness Center and coordinating the annual wellness fair

B. Respond to benefits concerns from individual faculty and staff members
1. Provide excellent customer service by working closely with vendors to ensure compliance and resolution of employee concerns
2. Ensure timely response to faculty and staff

C. Process vendor bills for benefits
1. Reconcile bills on a monthly basis, working with finance department as needed
2. Discuss any discrepancies with vendors
3. Ensure bills are paid in a timely manner

D. Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications

A. Professional
1. High school diploma or GED required
2. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred
3. Two to three years’ experience preferred
4. Maintain an attitude and philosophy consistent with ACU’s mission and vision and the values of the HR Team
5. Proven ability to relate well with colleagues, superiors, and other individuals inside and outside of the university and to maintain constructive working relationships

1. Problem Solving –identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully
2. Interpersonal Skills –maintain confidentiality, remain open to others’ ideas and exhibit willingness to try new things
3. Oral communication – able to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, and able to conduct meetings and group presentations
4. Written communication – competent at editing work for spelling and grammar, present numerical data effectively and is able to read and interpret written information
5. Planning/organizing – proven ability to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently and develop realistic action plans
6. Quality control – demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, and monitor own work to ensure quality
7. Adaptability –adapt to change in the work environment and manage competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
8. Dependability – consistently at work on time, follow instructions, respond to management direction and solicit feedback to improve performance

Physical Demands A. Ability to sit and work on computer for extended periods of time.
B. Travel as needed to attended conferences and training
C. Ability to work irregular hours during events
D. Occasional lifting of boxes up to 25 lbs
