Basic Responsibilities A. Lead the experiential learning strategic initiative.
B. Collaborate with and equip academic leaders and faculty to expand the scope and efficacy of high impact experiential learning at ACU.
C. Track, report and promote all aspects of experiential learning throughout the university.
Essential Duties

A. Lead the experiential learning strategic initiative.
1. Develop and implement a communication strategy in order to advance high-impact experiential learning as a signature element of an Abilene Christian University education.
2. Engage the entire University community, including faculty, advisors, staff, and students and facilitate an ongoing discussion of the role of experiential learning in the mission and vision of the University.
3. Propose plans to provide competitive funding to incentivize and support faculty and staff innovation in the development, expansion, and continual improvement of initiatives in experiential learning.

B. Collaborate with and equip academic leaders and faculty to expand the scope and efficacy of high impact experiential learning at ACU.
1. Collaborate with directors and leaders of focused high impact initiatives to discover and create synergies for increasing the scope and efficacy of each program.
2. Collaborate with the Adams Center for Teaching and Learning to provide a variety of faculty development opportunities designed to enhance experiential learning and its impact on student learning. Topics should include, but aren’t limited to, creating and improving experiential learning within the disciplines; creating and measuring learning outcomes for experiential learning; experiential learning pedagogy.
3. Promote faculty interest in and the development of experiential learning opportunities embedded in or as a co-curricular accompaniment to their courses.
4. Serve as a resource for faculty and staff with questions about best practices in experiential learning.
5. Work in collaboration with others to identify and pursue possible outside funding sources for experiential learning.

C. Track and report on all aspects of experiential learning throughout the university.
1. Oversee the creation and implementation of a system that works within existing systems to track and report student participation in experiential learning at ACU.
2. Develop, coordinate, and implement an experiential learning assessment plan, in collaboration with the assistant provost for assessment and curriculum.
3. Work with the designated representatives from the colleges to implement common procedures for effective assessment, review, and evaluation of experiential learning.

4. Record keeping and reporting software (eg., EAB Campus, EAB APS, Handshake Activity Insight, Taskstream)
5. Business writing and speaking
6. Ability to organize and manage multiple systems of information with attention to detail

B. Training Modules Required
1. Software listed above and other pertinent software
2. Other as necessary

Qualifications A. Master’s degree required. Doctoral degree or equivalent preferred.
B. Five years of relevant work experience in higher education.
C. Demonstrated ability to develop, implement or supervise experiential learning.
D. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through speaking and writing.
E. Demonstrated ability to multi-task diverse projects and work cooperatively with others.
F. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, fundraise or write grants.
G. Demonstrated ability to create or implement assessment plans.
H. High energy level, ability to maintain several activities at one time.
I. Demonstrated ability to manage stress and be an independent problem solver.
J. Demonstrated ability to remain focused and in one place for long periods of time.
Physical Demands A. Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
B. Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
C. Frequently moves about to attend meetings and access files and office machinery.
D. The person in this position frequently communicates with faculty, senior leaders and external constituents. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
