Title of Position Student Engagement Coordinator

Basic Responsibilities A. Facilitate the development, implementation, and management of the Griggs Center’s entrepreneurship competitions
B. Manage co-curricular programs targeting students who are actively running a business
C. Manage external relationships, such as sponsors, mentors and competition judges for the competitions and student entrepreneurs
Essential Duties

A. Facilitate the development, implementation, and management of the Griggs Center’s entrepreneurship competitions
1. Work with the student leaders and the Director of the Griggs Center in developing and updating entrepreneurship competitions
2. Manage the marketing of competitions to students

B. Manage co-curricular programs targeting students who are actively running a business.
1. Assist in the oversight of a student organization targeting students interested in starting a business or currently managing a business
2. Provide or arrange for appropriate resources (e.g., coaching and mentoring) for student entrepreneurs
3. Maintain regular communication with and track progress of each student or student team in the program

C. Manage external relationships, such as sponsors, mentors and competition judges for the competitions and student entrepreneurs
1. Solicit local businesses and organizations as sponsors
2. Recruit and manage the judging process for student competitions
3. Communicate with external stakeholders as needed to maintain their support and involvement

4. Coordinate other projects as assigned

B. Training Modules Required
1. Computer software training as updates demand.
Qualifications A. Professional
1. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required (a BBA is preferred)
2. Ability to organize strategic planning and budgeting procedures
3. Ability to interact with and promote program to students

B. Personal
1. Strong interpersonal communication skills.
2. Ability to work and interact well with students
3. Self-motivated, resourceful and creative
Physical Demands A. Able to stand for extended periods of time.
B. Able to sit at a computer for extended periods of time.
C. Able to sit in meetings for extended periods of time.
D. Be available to work evenings and/or weekends on occasion in addition to regular office hours
