Basic Responsibilities  

A. Design and develop web and digital media as needed, including but not limited to landing pages, banners, social ads and content, emails, digital signage and other digital graphics. 

B. Continuously improve our website through design and front-end development. Identify areas where the website can be improved - to better communicate our 

value, be more user-friendly and increase engagement and conversion metrics - and work to address them on a regular. 

C. Perform updates to the University’s websites including but not limited to new pages, content, features and functionality. 

D. Perform back-end testing and troubleshooting, while acting as the single-point of contact for third party back-end integrations. 

E. Train campus partners in the appropriate use of our instance of Wordpress and the staging environment. 

Essential Duties  

A. Design and develop web and digital media as needed, including but not limited to landing pages, banners, social ads and content, emails, digital signage and other digital graphics. 

B. Create solutions that transform the University’s web presence into an 

effective marketing and strategic communication platform. 

C. Ensure that creative solutions meet the University’s brand story 

requirements and style guidelines. 

D. Serve as a creative leader for the University’s web presence. 

E. Continuously improve our website through design and front-end development. Identify areas where the website can be improved - to better communicate our 

value, be more user-friendly and increase engagement and conversion metrics -

and work to address them on a regular cadence. 

F. Ensure that the University’s websites meet web content accessibility guidelines, usability standards and performance requirements. 

G. Partner with campus web team(s) to understand and capture emerging website requirements. 

H. Design, develop, implement and measure improvements to the University’s web Presence. 

I. Perform updates to the University’s websites including but not limited to new pages, content, features and functionality. 

J. Support campus web team(s) in performing updates to pages and content. 

K. Create and maintain design and technical documentation for the 

University’s websites and WordPress environments. 

L. Cultivate and maintain high satisfaction with campus web team(s) through 

dependable, remarkable service. 

Professional Development Requirements  

Skills 

A. Strong knowledge and ability to design, develop and execute strategic 

and current web designs, with a focus on usability and responsive design 

(mobile experience a plus) using Adobe Creative Suite applications such 

as Photoshop, XD or Illustrator. 

B. Ability to communicate brand and follow a style guide for consistent 

design across platforms. 

C. Ability to lead projects from design layout and wireframes to fully functioning Pages. 

D. Ability to proof web content to assure quality. 

E. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively 

through both oral and written channels. 

F. Strong organizational and time management skills. 

G. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. 

H. Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects 

while meeting set deadlines. 

I. Ability to work independently, take initiative and assume responsibility for 

assigned projects and duties. 

J. Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing 

with faculty, staff, students, university officials and the public. 

K. Possess a passion for using digital channels to communicate the brand, 

reach target audiences and inspire engagement. 

 

Training modules required 

A. Attend occasional out of town conferences and training. 

 

Qualifications

A. University 

ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ. This position requires the employee to be a professing Christian and to be willing to support the Christian mission of ACU. 

 

B. Professional 

a. Bachelor’s degree preferred 

b. 3-5 years of experience designing and developing WordPress websites – portfolio

examples required.  

c. Experience with responsive design for mobile and desktop.  

d. Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud software including but not limited 

to Photoshop, XD and Illustrator.  

e. Extensive understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript preferred.

and under pressure on multiple projects.

Physical Demands

A. Work is performed in an office environment; must have the ability to sit or stand for longer periods of time.  

B. Work extended hours at certain times of the year.  

C. Ability to handle stress well.
