Basic Responsibilities
  1. Ensure appropriate service delivery for clients of ACU speech therapy programs via effective supervision of graduate student (MS-SLP) clinicians
  2. Provide education and counseling for graduate student clinicians regarding service provision
  3. Ensure appropriate documentation of client services and student supervision activities
Essential Duties
  1. Ensure appropriate service delivery for clients of ACU speech therapy programs via effective supervision of graduate student (MS-SLP) clinicians
    1. Provide onsite supervision of graduate student clinical practicum at the on-campus clinic or at department-managed clinical sites as assigned by the Director of Clinical Education.
  2. Provide education and counseling for graduate student clinicians regarding service provision
    1. Meet with students regarding case management
    2. Provide student guidance regarding professional responsibilities and conduct
  3. Ensure appropriate documentation of client services and student supervision activities
    1.  Oversee documentation of service provision (evaluation reports, progress notes, etc)
    2. Complete documentation regarding graduate student performance
    3. Complete documentation of supervisory activities:  timesheets, clinical hours verifications, etc.
Professional Development Requirements
  1. Skills 
  1. General knowledge and skills required for professional practice in speech –language pathology
  2. ASHA-required background/training in supervision of student clinicians
  1. Training Modules Required
  1. Minimum 2-hours supervision training per ASHA requirements
  2. Training in ClinicNote EMR software
  3. Training in other clinical management software as needed
Qualifications
  1. Professional
  1. Master’s degree in Speech-language pathology
  2. ASHA certification and Texas license in speech-language pathology
  3. Documentation of supervision training per ASHA 2020 requirements
  4. Minimum of 9-months post-certification professional practice completed
  1. Personal
  1. Experience in supervision of graduate student clinicians
  2. Supports the mission of the university and department
Physical Demands
  1. Must be able to transport self to clinical practicum sites
  2. Must have sensory abilities necessary to observe and evaluate student therapy sessions
