Basic Responsibilities A. Develop Supplemental Instruction (SI) Program and foster learning communities.
B. Promote and engage interest in the Supplemental Instruction Program from
faculty, advisers, and students.
C. Develop SI leaders training program to support SI Program.
D. Maintain supplemental instruction outcome and measurement reports.
E. Recruit, train, and supervise supplemental instruction leaders.
F. Manage the Supplemental Instruction budget.
G. Provide case management services to eligible students within University Access
Programs.
Essential Duties

A. Develop Supplemental Instruction Program and foster learning communities.
1. Coordinate overall strategic vision with University Access Programs director.
2. Implement and oversee SI Program.
3. Engage with campus partners to inform program practices and needs
4. Develop SI leader training program for SI leaders.
5. Maintain website and utilize other methods to inform campus community
about the Supplemental Instruction Program.

B. Promote and engage interest in the Supplemental Instruction Program with
faculty, academic advisers, and students.
1. Consult with course instructor for course content and student support.
2. Solicit and analyze SI student participant feedback and provide collaborative
learning strategy sessions.
3. Support student learning through systematic collaboration through individual
meetings with SI leaders, students, and faculty.
4. Identify learning gaps in course content and provide instructional strategies to
improve academic performance.
C. Develop SI leaders training program to support SI Program.
1. Create and maintain job descriptions for SI leaders.
2. Support SI leaders through training program and weekly meetings.
3. Provide on-site evaluation of SI leaders.
4. Coordinate and facilitate meetings between faculty and SI leaders
5. Ensure SI leaders are creative in using a variety of learning strategies.
6. Review outcomes with faculty to ensure course objectives are met through SI
sessions.
D. Maintain Supplemental Instruction outcomes and measurements.
1. Collect and maintain SI attendance for each course.
2. Collect course grades for attendees and non-participants in SI sessions.
3. Create comparative assessment reports of SI session attendance and course
grades.
4. Report retention data for program assessment within each course section.
5. Engage with Office of Institutional Effectiveness to provide measurements and
outcomes for SI participants and non-SI participants.
6. Evaluate and review pilot program protocol for efficacy for future SI courses.
E. Recruit, train, and supervise supplemental instruction leaders.
1. Coordinate the SI leader selection process with faculty; facilitate hiring
process
2. Provide weekly group training on study skills, diversity, SI activities, and SI
planning.
3. Ensure SI leaders implement the SI model and provide safe learning
environments.
4. Conduct SI session observations.
F. Manage the Supplemental Instruction budget.
1. Determine overall budget structure to promote cost effectiveness.
2. Partner with departments to secure funding for SI leaders.
3. Manage budgetary expenses.


G. Provide case management services to eligible students within University Access
Programs.

1. Engage with eligible students receiving services in University Access
Programs; coordinate with UAP director
2. Assess individual biopsychosocial needs and monitor progress.
3. In partnership with student, develop strategic plans based on shared
information to accomplish student goals.
4. Evaluate student academic or financial gaps and coordinate resources with
internal and external agencies or offices.
5. Advocate for the well-being of students in campus life and academic affairs.
6. Educate students in interpersonal skills related to faculty and staff interactions.

Qualifications A. Professional
1. Bachelor’s degree required, master preferred
2. A minimum of 5 years of higher education experience required
3. Outstanding presentation and writing communication skills are required
4. Exceptional organizational skills required
