Basic Responsibilities A. Counsels students regarding policies and procedures, registration, degree progression, academic status, and payment options.
B. Works with Academic Affairs and Operations Team to monitor and resolve challenges and ensure academic/university integrity and obligations.
Essential Duties

A. Counsels students regarding policies and procedures, registration, degree progression, academic status, and payment options.
1. Collects documents for progressions and payment options
2. Monitors group size and course sequence according to programmatic needs
3. Assures student though financial settlement process
4. Monitors student schedules to ensure satisfactory performance

B. Works with Academic Affairs and Operations Team to monitor and resolve challenges and ensure academic/university integrity and obligations.
1. Partners with Program Directors and Registrar’s office in degree audits and graduation processing
2. Ensures all academic compliance matters are resolved
3. Works with student support teams to resolve barriers
4. Supports and upholds all university policies
5. Demonstrates personal and professional integrity

Professional Development Requirements

A. Skills
1. Possess high level knowledge of the higher education market and industry
2. Possess high level understanding of business, education, technology, counseling and/or nursing programs of study
3. Must be student and advisor oriented and have the ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and effectively
4. Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively
5. Customer service or advising experience in an education environment entailing one on one interaction is highly preferred
6. Must possess a high level of interpersonal and communication skills to accurately convey University information as desired above
7. Must have an excellent command of professional presentation skills and be comfortable presenting to groups both larger and small
8. Must be self-motivated and be able to work effectively in a team environment
9. Computer literate and able to learn proprietary software applications

B. Training Modules Required
1. New Advisor Training
2. Technology Tools Training
3. Others as development needs dictate

Qualifications

A. Professional
1. Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
2. Demonstrable experience from successfully working in a team environment
3. Some evening and weekend hours may be required

B. Personal
1. Collaborative nature
2. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
3. Desire for meaningful work and mission orientation
4. Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Physical Demands A. Work is performed in an office environment; must have the ability to sit for long periods of time (6-8 hours).
B. Must be able to use a telephone or headset equipment and able to perform work at a computer in a cubicle.
C. May be required to the manual operation of general office equipment.
D. Limited travel may be required – locations vary, and some overnight travel may be necessary.
