Basic Responsibilities A. Design and produce artwork/graphics for electronic and traditional publication and
marketing projects, primarily for intercollegiate athletics, plus other projects as
assigned.
B. Assist with day-to-day management of personal and office workflow.
C. Demonstrate effective customer relations skills.
D. Help coordinate traffic flow of projects with production coordinator and vendors.
E. Successfully manage time and resources to meet deadlines on multiple projects.
F. Help proofread and edit copy as needed.
Essential Duties

A. Graphic design and production

a. Demonstrate creative solutions to design/graphic arts challenges.
b. Develop and practice high levels of production workmanship.
c. Develop proficiencies in electronic as well as traditional publishing mediums.
d. Demonstrate ability to follow and lead others in compliance of university brand guidelines.

B. Day-to-day management of workflow
a. Provide proactive assistance in helping key projects move through the office.
b. Provide leadership in helping resolve problems.

C. Practice effective customer relations skills
a. Communicate clearly with customers.
b. Listen to customer needs and meet them.
c. Cultivate customer loyalty through dependable, remarkable service.

D. Coordinate traffic flow with production coordinator and vendors
a. Learn vendor capabilities and execute projects to meet their requirements.
b. Practice quality control to ensure department standards are met/exceeded.
c. Communicate clearly with co-workers/vendors/customers in a timely manner.

E. Manage time and resources successfully
a. Manage time and resources as an exemplary steward.
b. Excel at problem recognition and solutions.

F. Proofread and edit
a. Demonstrate conscientious proofreading and editing skills.
b. Demonstrate responsibility for language as well as images on projects.

Professional Development Requirements

A. Skills
a. Demonstrated Macintosh proficiency in the following software:
i. InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects. Digital portfolio required when applying for this position.
b. Demonstrated graphic arts print production and/or electronic publishing production proficiency.
c. At least 45 wpm typing.

B. Training modules required
a. Software-specific training as needed.

Qualifications
  1. Professional
    1. Bachelor’s degree or experience in graphic design, art, digital media, marketing, sports marketing, or mass communication.
    2. Demonstrated high proficiency in use of graphic design software for Macintosh.
    3. Demonstrated creative ability.

Physical Demands
  1. Sitting. Able to work at the computer for extensive periods (80 percent) of time.
  2. Driving. Access to vehicle for local trips.
  3. Talking. Ability to communicate easily with customers on phone and in person.
  4. Lifting. Moving boxes up to 30 lbs. (for deliveries).
