Basic Responsibilities
  1. Provide excellent first-line student / parent service for Residence Life and Housing issues. 

  2. Manage the process of housing assignments within the residence hall software and related systems. 

  3. Coordinate and assist Residence Life staff with the general business functions of Residence Life.

Essential Duties
  1. Provide excellent first-line student / parent service for Residence Life and Housing issues. 

    1. Respond to student and parent requests, questions, or needs via walk-in, email, or phone in a timely, efficient manner and in a way that reflects the values of the department and the University.

    2. Partner with Wildcat Central, Admissions, SOAR, Financial Aid, Billing, IT, University Access Programs, and other campus partners to respond to student issues in residence halls.

    3. Elevate issues, questions, or complaints that require managerial attention to the appropriate person (assistant director, director, dean, or vice-president).

    4. Create a welcoming and hospitable environment within the office 

    5. Maintain close contact with resident directors in regards to student/housing issues that need their involvement. 

  1. Manage the process of housing assignments within the residence hall software and related systems. 

    1. Manage and communicate housing assignments to students living in residence halls and University apartments. 

    2. Coordinate transition of data into other systems; this would include the assignment data, related billing data, and meal plan data, if that information is being collected at the time of housing assignment.

    3. Maintain records for Residence Life per the records policy for Student Life.

  1. Coordinate and assist Residence Life staff with the general functions of Residence Life. 

    1. Support and coordinate with WFF/Facilities Management cleaning and maintenance initiatives.

    2. Manage the Residence Life website.

    3. Work closely with the director of Residence life around administrative needs for the department.

    4. Other duties as assigned.

Professional Development Requirements
  1. Skills Required

    1. Communicator with students, parents, faculty, and staff. 

    2. Ability to make independent judgements and decisions for the department.

    3. Web page management, collecting, filing, and record maintenance

  2. Training Modules Required (willingness to learn)

    1. The Housing Director, CS Gold, Banner, Navigate

    2. Other professional development needed to attain required skill level

  1. Professional

    1. Bachelor’s degree required; appropriate skill set required. 

    2. Exceptional Customer Service    

    3. Knowledge of ACU policies and procedures.

    4. Ability to exercise discretion and make independent judgments is required.

    5. Ability to remain calm and work well in stressful situations and maintain strict confidentiality.

    6. Residence Life experience preferred, but not required.

    1. Love of working with college students.

    2. Ability to be flexible in processing new ideas, initiatives, and to work independently.

    3. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

    4. Ability to maintain a professional demeanor under stress and uphold confidentiality.

    8. Willingness to work weekends and evenings, attend university events, and residence hall programs, and be an active member of the ACU campus community.  

    9. Willingness to build interpersonal relationships with coworkers

Physical Demands  
  1. Ability to sit for long periods of time.

  2. Ability to lift 20-25 pounds and to bend, stoop, or kneel to access files.

  3. Ability to focus in the midst of interruptions.

  4. Ability to work at a computer terminal, including keyboarding.

  5. Ability to work long hours beyond a standard 40 hour work week
