Basic Responsibilities

A. Responsible for recruiting students from assigned regions or target audiences and achieving enrollment goals in academic quality and diversity.

B. Assist and/or coordinate special recruiting events on and off campus, including evenings and weekends when necessary, and as assigned by the Director of Admissions.

C. Responsible for supporting the Enrollment Services Team including but not limited to:

admissions/financial aid visits with prospective families, campus tours when needed, calling students/ families, receiving inbound calls, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.

 

Essential Duties

A. Responsible for recruiting students from assigned regions or target audiences and achieving enrollment goals in academic quality and diversity.

1. Analyze market data to help develop successful recruiting strategies to achieve enrollment goals within assigned territory or audience.

2. Achieve monthly and yearly goals for applicants, admits, visitors, and confirmed students.

3. Advise prospective students and their families of admission requirements and financial aid process and status.

4. Manage daily correspondence with prospective students and parents through telephone, e-mail, text, and mail.

5. Implement targeted calling/e-mail/mail campaigns and achieve weekly contact and activity goals.

6. Maintain consistent personal communication with prospective students and parents.

7. Meet with prospective students or groups visiting campus.

8. Conduct affordability conversations with families after receiving their financial aid award letter.

9. Represent ACU at high school visits, college fairs, virtual events, and other special events.

10. Develop a network of contacts throughout the assigned region to support recruitment efforts. These contacts include high school counselors, alumni, youth ministers, church leaders, Christian school administrators, members of ACU

Board of Trustees, and other friends of ACU.

11. Collaborate with campus partners to promote programs and enhance recruitment efforts.

12. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality concerning all matters in the Office of Admission and Financial Aid and adhere to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.

B. Assist and/or coordinate special recruiting events on and off campus, including evenings and weekends when necessary, and as assigned by the Director. These include but are not limited to:

1. On-Campus Events:

● Special Visit Days

● Presidential Scholar Visit Days

● Preview Days

● New Student Orientations

2. Off-Campus Events:

● Admissions/Financial Aid Workshops

● School Visits

● Church Visits

● College Night Programs

● Recruiting Dinners

C. Responsible for supporting the Enrollment Management Team, including but not limited to: admissions/financial aid visits with prospective families, campus tours when

needed, receiving inbound calls, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Recruiting.

1. Assist with daily campus visits as well as seasonal activities, projects and/or events.

2. When necessary, assist with daily campus tours for prospective students and families.

3. Work scheduled hours to provide assistance to the Welcome Center as needed.

4. Responsible for completing productivity reports, expense reports, travel itineraries, and administrative items in a timely manner.

5. Other duties as assigned.

 

Professional Development Requirements

A. Required Skills:

1. Strong communication skills and the ability to listen attentively, convey understanding and persuasively communicate the value of the ACU experience

to various constituencies.

2. Demonstrated ability to set goals, organize and prioritize daily activities, exercise necessary follow-up, and be detail oriented.

3. Strong organizational and project management skills, and exceptional oral and written communication skills.

4. Strong public speaking and presentation skills.

5. Strong people skills and demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.

6. Strong computer skills required. Must have the ability to use the Internet, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace. Experience using Slate (CRM) system preferred.

7. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.


B. Training Modules Required:

1. Training in Slate (CRM) system.

2. Training in Banner, ACU’s system for student records

3. Regular Recruiting Team Meetings to keep up to date on changing programs, recruiting strategies, sales methods, etc.

4. Professional growth seminars for Enrollment Management professionals.


C. Technology Requirements:

1. Each Admissions Counselor must have their own cell phone.

 

Qualifications

A. ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ. This position requires the employee to be a professing Christian and to be willing to support the Christian mission

of ACU.

B. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (ACU graduate highly preferred).

C. Valid Texas driver’s license and good driving record required.

 

Physical Demands

A. Strong voice to endure extended periods of communication.

B. Ability to endure long periods of standing and walking.

C. Physical conditioning to help maintain peak performance during long days or weeks.

D. Physical effort with some handling of light weight items, such as supplies or materials.

E. Ability to handle stress well (high volume and high speed demands).

F. Significant travel, including some overnights and weekends, is required.
