Title of Position Student Recreation and Wellness Center-Summer Lifeguard
Department Student Recreation and Wellness Center
Hours per Week 10-25
Job Qualifications Current Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
Position Description/ Job Duties Lifeguards will be responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of those using the lap and leisure pools in the facility. The major responsibility of this position is to observe swimmers and enforce regulations in the guarding of life and prevention of accidents.
I. Responsibilities:
a. To supervise all activities of swimmers by enforcing SRWC rules and regulations
b. To warn swimmers of improper activities or hazards
c. To rescue persons in distress or in danger, and provide proper care
d. To communicate and record any accidents, rescues, or problems that occur while on my shift
e. To assist in chemical checks and maintenance of the Aquatics center
f. To correctly open and close the pools
g. To successfully and positively perform within work team dynamics
h. Adherence to expectations concerning working relations, attendance, primary and secondary responsibilities
Preferred Availability Sunday-Saturday, hours and shifts will vary
