Faculty Position Information

I. Basic Responsibilities: Develop two courses that will serve as corequisites to elementary statistics and finite math for applications.

II. Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.
A. Closely align the corequisite courses to the current math courses.
1. Provide expert knowledge and insights in the areas of math and developmental education.
2. Work with instructional design, management, and various teams, to ensure accuracy and relevance of content.
3. Answer specific queries and provide guidance based on math knowledge.
4. Participate in remote meetings.
5. Provide feedback to the program director for program and/or course improvement.
6. Other duties, as assigned and directed by lead faculty and/or Program Director.

5. Excellent verbal communication, written communication, and interpersonal abilities.

IV. Physical Demands:
A. The majority of work is performed in front of a computer and on the telephone; must have the ability to use the computer and remain stationary for long periods of time.
B. Manage conversations in person, online, and by telephone.
C. Work well under pressure and manage stress well.
D. Communicate clearly: speak, read, write, and hear clearly to perform essential functions.

Qualifications

A. Professional

1. A Master’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in Mathematics.
2. Previous subject matter experience in higher education, math, and developmental education.
3. Computer literate in software and internet-based applications.

B. Personal
1. Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
2. Ability to view and manage role and responsibilities in relation to larger mission, goals and perspective of the university.
3. Collaborative nature, with the ability to build consensus.
4. Outstanding organizational and project management skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
5. Self-motivated and solves problems, asking for input and initiating solutions as appropriate and reasonable.
6. Capacity to quickly learn new software applications.
