Basic Responsibilities

Program Development and Instructional Design
●Design and develop a comprehensive online curriculum for the Respecialization and Professional Retraining Program.
● Ensure the curriculum aligns with state and national standards for school psychology training and licensure.

Faculty Recruitment and Training:
● Hire, train, and mentor qualified instructors for online course delivery.
● Provide ongoing support and professional development for faculty to maintain instructional excellence

Student Recruitment and Support:
● Develop and execute student recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates to the program.
● Provide academic advising and mentorship to ensure student success and timely program completion.
● Coordinate and participate the in-person student competency check-ins. residential requirements for 1-1 skills check-in. 

Program Management:
● Oversee day-to-day operations of the program, including faculty, student engagement, and course scheduling.
● Continuously assess and enhance the program to maintain high academic standards and relevance to the field.
● Manage the program budget and ensure compliance with institutional policies.
● Establish and maintain strong relationships with regional education service agencies to support program relevance and student fieldwork opportunities.
● Serve as a liaison between the program and school districts to ensure alignment with workforce needs.

Teaching and Departmental Engagement:
● Teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses within the Department of Psychology, as assigned.
● Participate in departmental service and contribute to strategic initiatives.

Essential Duties

Program Development and Instructional Design
● Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of an online Respecialization and Professional Retraining (RPR) program, ensuring alignment with school psychology licensure standards.
● Develop proficiency in Canvas or evolving web-based learning management systems (LMS) to design, deliver, and manage online courses, ensuring an engaging and user-friendly learning experience for students.
● Provide training and support to online faculty in using LMS tools effectively.
● Develop interactive, engaging, and technologically advanced course content suitable for an online learning environment.
● Incorporate best practices in online learning into course development.

Faculty Recruitment & Professional Development:
● Recruit, onboard, and mentor a diverse and qualified faculty for online course delivery.
● Conduct ongoing professional development sessions to ensure instructional excellence and familiarity with online learning tools.

Student Recruitment & Support:
● Develop targeted recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates.
● Provide academic advising and coordinate in-person competency check-ins to assess students practical skills.

Program Operations & Management:
● Oversee daily operations, including faculty coordination, course scheduling, and student engagement.
● Manage program budgets and ensure compliance with institutional and educational policies.

Stakeholder Engagement & Partnership Development:
● Build and maintain partnerships with regional education service agencies and school districts to support fieldwork opportunities and program alignment with workforce needs.
● Actively recruit and engage additional regional stakeholders to expand the program's reach and support its growth.

Teaching & Departmental Service:
● Teach courses within the Department of Psychology, integrating practical and theoretical knowledge.
● Participate in departmental initiatives and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.

Travel
● Travel as needed to support recruitment efforts, conduct assessments, and maintain engagement with students and regional education partners.

Professional Development Requirements

ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ. This position requires the employee to be a professing Christian and to be willing to support the Christian mission of ACU.
● Required: Masters or Specialist degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
● Required: Current licensure as a School Psychologist.
● Required: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in school psychology.
● Required: Familiarity with instructional design and curriculum development, particularly in online learning environments.
● Required: Strong technical skills and ability to work effectively with online learning management systems.
● Required: Familiarity with state and national accreditation requirements for school psychology training programs.

● Preferred: Expertise in instructional technology and online education best practices.
● Preferred: Experience teaching at the graduate or undergraduate level in psychology or related fields.
● Preferred: Experience recruiting, hiring, supervising, and mentoring.

Qualifications

● Effective leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
● Strong supervisory skills
● Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with school districts and
educational organizations.

Physical Demands

Technology Use:
● Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
● Frequent use of standard office equipment, including computers, keyboards, and audiovisual technology for teaching and online course development.
● Ability to engage in virtual meetings and webinars with clear verbal communication and visual attention to screen content.

Travel:
● Ability to travel regionally and potentially overnight for student recruitment, stakeholder engagement, and in-person competency assessments.
● Carrying lightweight materials such as recruitment materials, course documents, or technological equipment.

Teaching and Instruction:
● Ability to stand, walk, and present for extended periods during in-person teaching and training sessions.
● Use of clear verbal communication to engage students and facilitate effective teaching.
● Occasional setup and adjustment of classroom technology and presentation equipment.

General Mobility:
● Frequent movement within office spaces and campus environments for meetings, events, and program oversight.
