Basic Responsibilities ● Work as directed by the Director of Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing
● Oversee the maintenance, operation and preventative maintenance of the Central Plant and all HVAC/R to insure proper operation and maximum efficiency.
● Coordinate with the department technicians to insure quality control and maximum efficiency of the departments
● Oversee the maintenance and operation of the all kitchen equipment, walk-in coolers and ice machines on campus
● Oversee the maintenance, operation and preventative maintenance of the electrical system to insure proper operation and maximum efficiency.
● Oversee the maintenance, operation and preventative maintenance of the plumbing system to insure proper operation and maximum efficiency.
● To work cooperatively with all employees in the spirit of teamwork.
Essential Duties


● Follow the established rules, policies & procedures of the operations department and the university
● Display necessary initiative to work alone or in groups, Work with and supervise full time employees, student workers and contractors.
● Be available for emergency call outs after hours and during inclement weather.
● Responsible for the operation of the Central Plant and all its components including all chemical systems that service the Central Plant and loop line.
● Be responsible for data entry and monitoring the building monitoring system to ensure proper building conditioning and maximum efficiency.
● Work with the Director of M.E.P to implement and monitor preventative maintenance program for all HVAC/R, kitchen equipment, electrical and plumbing systems.
● Continuously explore opportunities to conserve utilities for campus.
● Ensure exceptional customer service is present at all times for employee and supervised staff.

Professional Development Requirements

These are the minimal skills needed to succeed at this job.

Skills Required:
● Mechanically minded
● Knowledge of computers and components.
● Skilled in typical computer software for building automation system applications.
● Skilled in computer maintenance management software.
● Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Training Modules:
● Written and verbal communication skills.
● Must have basic safety training.
● Emphasize excellent customer relations and service.

Qualifications

Because of ACU's affiliation with the Church of Christ, this employee must be a professing Christian and fully supportive of the Christian mission and purpose of the University.

Professional:

● High school diploma or GED.
● Minimum 5 years of experience operating and maintaining commercial HVAC/R equipment, kitchen equipment, electrical and plumbing systems.

Personal:

● Honest, responsible and person of high integrity.
● Good moral character.
● Trustworthy, dependable, and punctual.
● Good leadership qualities.

Physical Demands ● Be in good health and spirit of mind.
● Must be able to work in a fast paced, stressful environment.
● Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
● Must be able to climb ladders and access roof systems.
