Major Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Program Director with the online EdD Educational Leadership program.
2. A majority of time spent will be to assist the Program Director with supporting the work of the Coterie. Approximately 75% or 30 hours per week of your workload will be allocated to work with the Coterie. The remaining 25% will be allocated to teaching, service on project, program, college, and university committees as needs arise. The time commitment will vary based on the number of students. The program director may adjust the allocation of your loads as needed.
● Assist in collecting and reporting Coterie engagement data – 3-4 hours per week
○ Expanding efforts to track Coterie mentor and student participation, analyze trends, and refine engagement strategies.
● Assist in the development of immediate and long-range planning for the Coterie program – 3-4 hours per week
○ Engaging in deeper program development efforts, including curriculum alignment and strategic growth.
● Prepare for and lead weekly Coterie team member meetings – 3 hours per week
○ Enhancing meeting preparation, documentation, and follow-up actions.
● Attend weekly synchronous sessions (One hour per week in the evening) – 1 hour per week
○ Continuing student engagement in a real-time setting.
● Organize and attend one 2-hour Super Saturday Coterie session per term – 1 hour per week (averaged across the term)
○ Adding extra planning and follow-up components to maximize student impact.
● Overseeing the development of and preparing for weekly Coterie student meetings – 5-6 hours per week
○ Strengthening student meeting materials and post-meeting support.
● Assist in reviewing, approving, and providing feedback on students’ Declaration of Research Interest submissions – 10-12 hours per week
○ Expanding review time to ensure in-depth, constructive feedback on student research.
● Providing individualized mentorship and feedback on dissertation milestones – 3-4 hours per week
○ Offering one-on-one guidance to support students through their dissertation process.
● Regular communication with students (emails, check-ins, troubleshooting challenges, etc.) – 2-3 hours per week
○ Strengthening student engagement through proactive communication and support.
3. Teach and lead the assigned course by providing high-quality instruction, direction, and support for students in the online classroom environment.
4. Monitor and evaluate discussions and assignments of the assigned courses in the EdD Educational Leadership program.
5. Assist the Program Director in reporting outcome assessments in courses.
6. Utilize data to inform practice in educational leadership.
7. Advise students toward the completion of their program and dissertation.

1. Serve as the instructor in the course by providing high-quality instruction, direction, and support for students in the online classroom environment.
2. Provide rich and timely feedback on student work, being both encouraging and constructively critical.
3. Facilitate class sizes of up to approximately 28 students.
4. Place students in groups for assignments/discussions.
5. Provide timely and helpful answers to students’ inquiries regarding course material or academic matters.
6. Facilitate and grade assignments in a timely manner.
7. Mentor and assist students through daily communication via email, telephone, and the course website.
8. Act as the first line of response for student inquiries regarding curriculum-related issues. Contact the Program Director for clarification if assistance is required and provide feedback to students in a timely manner.
9. Meet with the program Director once during week zero and once mid-term
10. Enter final course grades in a timely manner.
11. Alert the program director to any student issues. This includes performance issues (e.g. failing grades, failing to turn in assignments, student “ghosting” or non-communication during the course, etc.) and policy violation issues (e.g. plagiarism or AI violation).
12. Comply with all pertinent policies and procedures outlined in Abilene Christian University’s Handbook, Faculty Guidelines, EDD in Educational Leadership Handbook, and those specified by ACU’s College of Learning and Development.
13. Other duties, as assigned and directed by the program director.
Assist the CLD EdD in Educational Leadership program.
1. Assist in developing plans to further the purpose, mission, vision, and goals of the program.
2. Attend regular meetings with faculty, adjuncts, and students to conduct the academic and co-curricular affairs of the program.
3. Engage a spirit of teamwork and collegiality among the faculty, adjuncts, and students in the program.
4. Support current and relevant curriculum development and updates as needed.
5. Collaborate in the creation and development of a dissertation process for students in the program as assigned.
Advising students toward the completion of their course
1. Ensure students make progress and complete their assignments on time.
2. Coordinate with Student Success Advisors in monitoring and addressing the needs of students.

Physical Demands:
1. Majority of work is performed in front of a computer and on the telephone; must have the ability to use the computer and remain stationary for long periods of time.

3. Limited travel – locations vary, and some overnight travel may be necessary.
4. Work well under pressure and manage stress well.
5. Communicate clearly: speak, read, write, and hear clearly to perform essential functions.
