Basic Responsibilities |
● Serve as an on-the-ground content creator, gathering photos, videos, and stories from students, faculty, and campus events to share across ACU’s social media platforms. ● Manage day-to-day posting, engagement, and community interactions across all social media channels, ensuring timely responses and fostering meaningful conversations. ● Build and maintain relationships with students, faculty, and departments to source relevant and compelling content. ● Cover live events, student activities, and key university moments in real-time, creating engaging multimedia content for various platforms. ● Recruit, train, and supervise student employees, providing guidance on content creation, social media best practices, and ACU’s brand voice. ● Ensure that all social media content aligns with ACU’s mission, values, and student experience while maintaining a consistent brand voice. ● Collaborate closely with the Social Media Strategist to align content with broader university marketing and communication goals. ● Monitor ACU-affiliated social media accounts, social media trends, student interests, and industry best practices to keep content fresh, engaging, and relevant. |

● Maintain and update a content calendar to ensure a consistent posting schedule based on social media best practices. ● Check in with and manage student influencer content and ACU’s social media podcast initiatives. ● Create video, photo, and story content tailored for different social media platforms. ● Develop and maintain relationships with students, faculty, and university departments to source content and identify engagement opportunities. ● Attend on-campus events to capture and share live content.

Professional Development Requirements |
● Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, digital media, or a related field. |
Qualifications |
● 1-3 years of experience in social media management, content creation, or digital marketing (higher education experience preferred but not required). ● Proficiency in social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok. ● Strong photography, videography, and editing skills with experience using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or CapCut. ● Excellent writing and storytelling abilities, with a keen eye for detail and understanding of social media trends. ● Ability to work in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and real-time content needs. ● Experience managing and mentoring student employees or interns is a plus. ● Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across campus. ● A passion for ACU’s mission and student experience. |
Physical Demands |
Work Environment and Expectations: ● This position is based on ACU’s campus and requires in-person attendance at university events, including some evenings and weekends. ● Must be comfortable capturing content in various settings, including classrooms, student events, and outdoor campus locations. ● Flexibility to adapt to emerging social media trends and university priorities. ● Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of ACU’s social media and marketing efforts. |
