Basic Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent first-line student / parent service for Residence Life and Housing issues.
  • Manage the process of housing assignments within the residence hall software and related systems.
  • Coordinate and assist Residence Life staff with the general business functions of Residence Life.
Essential Duties

Provide excellent first-line student / parent service for Residence Life and Housing issues.

  • Respond to student and parent requests, questions, or needs via walk-in, email, or phone in a timely, efficient manner and in a way that reflects the values of the department and the University.
  • Partner with Wildcat Central, Admissions, SOAR, Financial Aid, Billing, IT, University Access Programs, and other campus partners to respond to student issues in residence halls.
  • Elevate issues, questions, or complaints that require managerial attention to the appropriate person (assistant director, director, dean, or vice-president).
  • Create a welcoming and hospitable environment within the office
  • Maintain close contact with resident directors in regards to student/housing issues that need their involvement.

Manage the process of housing assignments within the residence hall software and related systems.

  • Manage and communicate housing assignments to students living in residence halls and University apartments.
  • Coordinate transition of data into other systems; this would include the assignment data, related billing data, and meal plan data, if that information is being collected at the time of housing assignment.
  • Maintain records for Residence Life per the records policy for Student Life.

Coordinate and assist Residence Life staff with the general functions of Residence Life.

  • Support and coordinate with HES/Facilities Management cleaning and maintenance initiatives.
  • Manage the Residence Life website.
  • Work closely with the director of Residence life around administrative needs for the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Professional Development Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; appropriate skill set required.
  • Exceptional Customer Service
  • Knowledge of ACU policies and procedures.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and make independent judgments is required.
  • Ability to remain calm and work well in stressful situations and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Residence Life experience preferred, but not required.

  • Ability to make independent judgements and decisions for the department.
  • Web page management, collecting, filing, and record maintenance

  • The Housing Director, CS Gold, Banner, Navigate
  • Other professional development needed to attain required skill level
Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 20-25 pounds and to bend, stoop, or kneel to access files.
  • Ability to focus in the midst of interruptions.
  • Ability to work at a computer terminal, including keyboarding.
  • Ability to work long hours beyond a standard 40 hour work week
