Basic Responsibilities A. Assist with planning and execution of homecoming
B. Oversee the Legacy Program
C. Oversee the Alumni Travel Program
D. Build and manage the Commencement receptions
E. Assist with the organization of Family Weekend
F. Liaison for Women for ACU
G. Assist with the organization of the Alumni Day Luncheon
H. Organize reception for ACU Alumni at Pepperdine Lectures
I. Organize events with the Rangers and Astros
J. Oversee the VW Kelly Scholarship
Essential Duties

Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.


A. Assist with the planning and execution of homecoming by:
1. Assist with coordinating all class reunions for the previous 45 years’ of
reunion classes on five-year increments.
2. Plan and execute other major homecoming event(s) as defined.
3. Forecast, set and manage budget for Homecoming responsibilities
4. Assist with oversight of student workers and their homecoming duties


B. Oversee the Legacy Program
1. Manage mailing of Legacy program items
2. Keep information updated in Banner for Alumni children
3. Work with advancement and their role in the Legacy program
4. Forecast, set and manage budget for items for the Legacy program
5. Assist with oversight of student workers and their work with mailing or
distributing Legacy items


C. Assist the Emeriti Program by:
1. Be the liaison between the travel company and the Alumni Office.

2. Help manage communication, print materials, and meetings regarding
the details for alumni and the travel program


D. Build and manage the Commencement receptions
1. For May and December Commencement reserve locations
2. Determine needs and work with Chartwells on catering
3. Work with the Commencement committee and the Registrar’s office on
details

E. Assist with planning Family Weekend by:
1. Working with admissions on their alignment with Premiere Weekend
2. Working with the First Year Program on the execution of the weekend
experience
3. Plan details that may fall to our office and budget for these details


F. Liaison for Women for ACU
1. Consult on a regular basis with WACU National Board President
regarding WACU operations
2. Assist with board and executive committee meetings, membership
development, training conferences, publications, and other matters of
mutual concern between WACU and ACU
3. Forecast, set and help manage budget for WACU responsibilities
4. Lead relationship and execution of the WACU scholarship process


G. Assist with the organization of the Alumni Day Luncheon
1. Serve as the team designee for the recipient of the Young Alumnus of
the Year award
2. Manage the event details for the YAY candidate
3. Help with communication, registration and other details for the event
4. Work with the University Events team on needs for the event space,
work order, etc.

H. Organize reception for ACU Alumni during the Pepperdine Lectures
1. Oversee details with Pepperdine
2. Build Alumni engagement on West Coast
3. Forecast, set and manage budget for the reception for ACU alum for
the Pepperdine Lectures


I. Organize events for Rangers and Astros
1. Oversee relationships with marketing department and both baseball
organizations
2. Manage tickets sales


J. Oversee VW Kelly Scholarship Program
1. Organize candidates for the AAB members to interview
2. Work with financial Aid to transfer funds for scholarship to the student
accounts

Professional Development Requirements 1. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Banner or the willingness and ability to
learn Banner
2. Interested in staying “current” through professional development in the
alumni relations profession
Qualifications

ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ. This position requires
the employee to be a professing Christian and to be willing to support the
Christian mission of ACU.

1. Bachelor’s degree required
2. An alumna/us or former student of ACU
3. Extensive customer service experience
4. Outstanding presentation and writing communication skills
