Faculty Full-time

Abilene Christian University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure-track position as a visiting College Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology, beginning August 2025.

The successful applicant will be expected to be an effective teacher with a background in biology and a passion for teaching undergraduate courses in introductory biology, and possibly cell biology, physiology or anatomy. Additional courses may be assigned depending on the candidate's expertise.

Responsibilities include in-person teaching of 15 contact hours per semester, primarily introductory biology lecture and labs, may include upper-level lecture and lab courses.

Duties expected of all faculty include development and evaluation of curricula, maintaining scheduled office hours, attendance at department meetings, pursuing professional growth activities, and performing other duties consistent with the role of a visiting faculty member.

There are no formal academic advising or university service responsibilities associated with this position.

Minimum qualifications:

• A Master’s Degree in any biological science or a closely related discipline
• A strong commitment to effective undergraduate teaching.

Preferred qualifications:

• Earned doctorate in any biological science or a closely related discipline
• Demonstrated record of successful undergraduate biology instruction
• Commitment to innovative curriculum development and delivery
