Basic Responsibilities
Oversee the Advancement team that includes fundraising, gift servicing, donor relations, alumni and university relations, planned giving and university events.
Establish well designed processes for the management of information that is to be used strategically in order to plan and coordinate work.
Serve as a member or staff liaison on various university committees, boards and teams.
Represent the university at various civic, religious and educational functions.
Essential Duties
Oversee the Advancement team that includes Advancement, Advancement Services, Office of Planned Giving, Donor Relations, Alumni Relations and University Events.
Set the vision for the Advancement team, in conjunction with senior leaders of the university.
Lead the Advancement team and develop a strategic plan (to support the vision), updating it every three to five years, ensuring there are measurable goals and a system of accountability to meet those goals.
Recruit, hire and lead personnel on the Advancement team.
Establish well designed processes for the management of information to be used strategically in order to plan and coordinate work.
Reimagine how data, relationships and priorities are managed and lead the process to establish clear priorities.
Ensure the appropriate infrastructure is in place to support fundraising goals, donor and alumni engagement and planned giving.
Oversee all fundraising and alumni, university and donor relations for the university
Drive the planning efforts for annual giving, as well as future comprehensive and/or capital fundraising campaigns.
Ensure that effective alumni, parent and donor events/engagement experiences are created and executed.
Cultivate and maintain strong community and governmental relations such that the interests of the university are well-represented and supported.
Carry a portfolio of major donors and be actively engaged in major donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, in conjunction with the President.
Serve as a member or staff liaison on various university committees, boards and teams, including but not limited to the following:
Member of Senior Leadership Team, a senior-level team chaired by the President.
Serve on other university committees as appropriate.
Represent the university at various civic, religious and educational functions
Make presentations as necessary.
Actively participate in leadership and service opportunities with civic, professional and ministry organizations which enhance public relations for the university

Qualifications
ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ. This position requires the employee to be a professing Christian and to be willing to support the Christian mission of ACU. Candidates must have a deep understanding and appreciation for the heritage of Churches of Christ.
Education equivalent of a master’s degree or greater from an accredited institution of higher education preferred.
Seven to ten years of progressively responsible professional experience in advancement preferred.
Physical Demands
Endure all demands associated with frequent travel.
Be able to work at a computer for long periods.
Be able to sit in meetings for long periods of time.
