Basic Responsibilities
Coordinate the comprehensive assessment of communication needs related to the advancement, alumni relations and university relations functions at ACU.
Write and edit material for the offices of advancement, annual projects, athletics, and alumni relations and university relations.
Work with university staff and outside vendors to produce high-quality communication materials for major campaign efforts, events and other coordinated projects.
Plan and coordinate external communication with other divisions and oversee the production of Advancement Division material in ACU Today.
Essential Duties
Coordinate the comprehensive assessment of communication needs related to the advancement, alumni relations and university relations functions at ACU.
Help determine communication needs of fundraising campaigns, and create strategies and specific communications to meet those needs.
Lead the advancement staff in shaping themes and communication directives.
Ensure uniformity and consistency with the vision and values of the university.
Assist with maintaining a comprehensive communication calendar with university marketing for the purposes of coordinating the university's external communication.
Write and edit material for the offices of advancement, annual projects, athletics, and alumni relations and university relations.
Coordinate, schedule, write and edit internal and external email communications for the ACU community.
Assist with coordinating, scheduling and creating content for alumni social media platforms, and coordinate with university marketing about communicating advancement and alumni information on primary university channels.
When possible, assist other university departments in ensuring the timeliness and professionalism of their communication to ACU alumni, including the development of communication plans for outreach and alumni engagement.
Identify and interview students for inclusion in solicitations and donor engagement pieces.
Work with university staff and outside vendors to produce high-quality communication materials for major campaign efforts, the Exceptional Fund and other coordinated projects.
Write and/or edit event, news and feature content for the website and monthly alumni and friends e-newsletter.
Assist with planning and scripting video content for advancement events and electronic communications.
Write and edit letters for mass mailings and various proposals
Create and maintain email templates that meet the communication needs of the Advancement division as well as campus partners.
Plan and coordinate external communication with other divisions and oversee the production of Advancement Division material in ACU Today.
Write and edit advancement material for ACU Today, serve on the magazine advisory board, and work to ensure it reflects the priorities of the Advancement Division.
Schedule, write and edit fundraising material for the Athletics division as needed.
Assist other university departments, as able, in ensuring the timeliness and professionalism of their communication to ACU alumni.
Professional Development Requirements
Skills
Excellent writing and editing skills across a variety of mediums.
Knowledge of and experience with persuasive writing and solicitation material
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Google Documents.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, primarily InDesign and Photoshop.
Experience with social media platforms, including content creation.
Training Required
CRM Advance.
WordPress.
iModules/Anthology.
Qualifications
Professional:
Bachelor's degree in journalism, advertising/public relations, marketing, communication or related field required.
Minimum 3-5 years in higher education and/or journalism, public relations, marketing or related field preferred.
