Basic Responsibilities |
A. Works as directed by the Director of Grounds |
Essential Duties |
Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions. A. Works as directed by the Director of Grounds 1. Follow established rules, policies and procedures of Operations and Abilene Christian University. 2. Maintain expenditures within approved budget. 3. Order supplies as needed for completion of work assigned. 4. Complete work orders and written reports daily as needed. 5. Assist other trades personnel as needed in the spirit of cooperation and team work. 6. Continue to train and develop to the highest levels and degrees. 7. Be on call 24 hours per day B. Responsible for the maintenance, repair and service of all Landscape & Grounds equipment.
2. Ability to diagnose the source and extent of repairs. 3. Perform tune-ups on small engine equipment and vehicles. 4. Develop and maintain a service schedule for all equipment. C. Yard Manager- Organize and clean all equipment and parking areas at Central Plant and Operations. 1. Organize equipment for optimal yard space and safety 2. Clean all equipment and parking areas as needed. 3. Assist in the delivery of equipment for Physical Resources personnel. |
Professional Development Requirements |
A. Skills 1. A minimum of 3 years experience in small engine mechanics or related field. 2. Working knowledge of hand and power tools. 3. Excellent written and oral communications 4. Ability to manage and schedule equipment maintenance, repairs and service. 5. Use of computer and technology B. Training Modules Required 1. Small engine mechanic training 2. Basic computer training 3. Basic safety training |
Qualifications |

Professional 1. High school diploma or GED 2. Small engine repair certification/training 3. Thorough knowledge of outdoor equipment operations. 4. First aid certification B. Personal 1. Good moral character. 2. Clean and neat in appearance. 3. Honest, responsible, dependable and likes to work. |
