Basic Responsibilities A. Coordinate the evaluation of prospective transfer student-athletes and the determination of initial eligibility.
B. Coordinate the evaluation and reporting of the continuing eligibility of all student- athletes in accordance with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), conference, and institutional rules and policies.
C. Compile and analyze student-athlete academic data, and contribute to and submit required reporting.
Essential Duties

A. Coordinate the evaluation of prospective transfer student-athletes and the determination of initial eligibility.
1. Responsible for working with the Registrar, the Athletic Student Services staff and the Office of Admissions to acquire the necessary documents and information to evaluate initial eligibility for potential transfer and international student-athletes.
2. Complete transfer evaluations for potential transfer student-athletes to determine course equivalency and application toward the selected major, confirm the transfer GPA, and forecast if they will be academically eligible to compete.
3. Consult with Athletic Student Services staff and Office of the Registrar staff on Transfer Evaluation workflow from ARMS.
4. Advise on the major selection of incoming student-athletes as it relates to initial eligibility and student goals
5. Assist in the identification of academically at-risk incoming student- athletes each semester.
6. Coordinate with academic advisors to provide advice for incoming transfer student-athletes on coursework to take at their current institution to ensure transferability and degree applicability.
7. Maintain clear and consistent communication with the Athletic Student Services staff and the coaching staff regarding prospective student-athletes through ARMS, email and attending regularly scheduled meetings.

B. Coordinate the evaluation and reporting of the continuing eligibility of all student- athletes in accordance with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), conference, and institutional rules and policies.
1. Support the certification of student-athlete eligibility for formal NCAA reports on a timely basis prior to their participation in the activity.
2. Compile information for the eligibility certification of student-athletes and input it into the Compliance Assistant software system each semester (e.g. percentage of degree, GPA, credit hours passed, good academic standing).
3. Maintain degree plan spreadsheets that record academic eligibility and any issues that may be affecting eligibility.
4. Identify any student-athletes who are ineligible, at-risk, or have been placed on academic suspension or probation at the end of each semester and collaborate with the Athletic Student Services staff on academic recovery plans.
5. Collaborate with the Athletic Student Services staff and academic advisors about course registration and class scheduling in regard to meeting progress toward degree, degree completion, and graduation requirements and timelines.
6. Evaluate major change requests for student-athletes to determine eligibility under a new major.
7. Collaborate with the Athletic Compliance staff by providing information on former student-athletes for tracer forms when they transfer to another institution.
8. Promote academic integrity as a priority in all aspects of certification.

C. Compile and analyze student-athlete academic data, and contribute to and submit required reporting.
1. Maintain an understanding of compliance requirements to ensure adherence to NCAA and conference by-laws and regulations.
2. Collect data and statistics required for various reports (e.g. GPA, hours attempted and earned, graduation rates).
3. Assist Athletic staff in preparing the institution’s annual Academic Progress Rate (APR) and Graduation Success Rate (GSR) reports utilizing the NCAA database (CAi) to upload information into the academic portal.
4. Assist in the compilation of data required for any national, regional, or conference academic awards.
5. Provide information to the Athletic Student Services staff about student progress toward degree.
6. Contribute to NCAA waivers in coordination with the Athletics Compliance staff.
7. Maintain a policies and procedures manual to ensure that procedures are up to date with NCAA bylaws, legislation, and regulations.

1. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
2. Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
3. Previous experience with university academic processes preferred.
4. Computer skills, including word-processing and email communication.
5. Analytical skills and knowledge of academic records.
6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative and team environment.
7. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
8. Ability to work with details and follow-through on tasks.
