Basic Responsibilities A. Implement the Project objectives.
B. Create and maintain official Participant files and other records for the grant.
C. Assist the Project Director in fulfilling Project objectives as directed.
Essential Duties

A. Implement the Project objectives.
a. Assess the needs of Participants.
b. Assist with the creation and implementation of services that address the goals
and objectives of the project.
c. Deliver services to Participants.
d. Document services provided to Participants.
e. Participate in formative evaluation of project goals.
B. Create and maintain official Participant files and other records for the grant.
a. Create and maintain the official Participant files.
b. Create and maintain the electronic log of all Participants’ meetings and group
workshops and enter them into the Project database.

C. Assist the Program Director in fulfilling Project objectives as directed.

Professional Development Requirements

7. Programming that promotes the annual persistence rates of SSS Eligible Students from
one academic year to the next.
8. Programming that improves the annual academic standing (grade point average) rates of
SSS Eligible Students.
9. Training regarding ensuring college graduation and promote graduate school enrollment
for SSS Eligible Students.
10. Training in effective student “coaching,” specifically in the areas of guiding SSS Eligible
Students with goal setting, time management, self-advocacy, and study skills.

Qualifications 1. Bachelor’s Degree Required; Master’s Degree Preferred in education,
counseling, social work, or related field from an accredited college or university.
2. Minimum of one (1) year of appropriate and relevant professional
experience working in a TRIO federal program or similar related program for
disadvantaged and at-risk college students.
3. Professional or personal experiences in overcoming barriers similar to those
confronting participants.
4. Knowledge of assessment and data collection, learning styles and learning
assistance strategies, and experience in utilizing a coaching approach to
student assistance.
5. Knowledge of academic advising and college, career, financial aid, and
economic literacy activities and related services for SSS Eligible Students.
6. Experience assisting SSS Eligible Students with the graduation process and
promoting graduate school enrollment with admissions and financial aid
advising services.
7. Ability to effectively maintain a caseload of Participants and provide them
with documented services and activities.
8. Knowledge of barriers to postsecondary education faced by low income and
first-generation college students.
Physical Demands A. High energy level, ability to maintain several activities at one time.
B. Ability to manage stress and be an independent problem solver.
C. Ability to remain focused and in one place for long periods of time.
