Basic Responsibilities

● Office support for TL

● Assist TL with Stanley Reading Room inventory/collections

● Manage theological periodicals collection 

Essential Duties

A. Office support for TL

  1. Hire, train, and supervise student and volunteer staff in the Stanley Reading Room
    (SRR).
  2. Prepare correspondence, reports, scans/photocopies, etc.
  3. Communication and acknowledgement of gifts to the theological collection.

B. Assist TL with Stanley Reading Room inventory/collections

  1. Assist with integration, relocation and de-accession of books.
  2. Update and maintain records using WorkFlows/SirsiDynix library information software
  3. Maintain permanent and temporary shelving areas and workspaces.
  4. Assist with the inventory process for SRR.
  5. Update range finders and collections location signage.
  6. Keep a clean and orderly environment in SRR.

C. Manage theological periodicals collection

  1. Maintain accurate records of current theological periodicals in SIRSI Workflows.
  2. Monitor current subscriptions and claim missing issues.
  3. Coordinate movement of periodicals to Special Collections, bindery, etc.
Professional Development Requirements

A. Skills

  1. Knowledge of general office procedures, filing, writing skills
  2. Basic computer skills, 10 key proficiency
  3. Attention to detail
  4. Knowledge of MS Office and Google Suite
  5. Time management
  6. Customer service skills

B. Training Required

  1. Library Databases, Online catalog, OneSearch, Journal Finder, WorldCat, and Springshare LibApps
  2. Dewey Decimal shelving classification
  3. SIRSI/Dynix Workflows including but not limited to: Cataloging, Circulation, Reports & Serials Modules
  4. Wasp Wireless Scanner

Physical Demands

A. Physical Requirements

  1. Lifting (15-20 lbs); pushing loaded book carts
  2. Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and walking
  3. Sitting at a computer for long periods
