Basic Responsibilities
  1. Operate as a reporting and analytics software subject matter expert for Advancement.

  2. Work with university-level data analysts to develop, support and maintain Advancement reporting and analytical resources.

  3. Partner with the IT Enterprise Infrastructure (EI) group to manage data flow between Advancement systems and other campus or external partners.

Essential Duties
  1. Operate as a reporting and analytics software subject matter expert for Advancement.

    1. Help ensure Advancement continues to evolve in its ability to effectively use, promote, and rely on accurate and timely data.

    2. Collaborate with campus end-users to determine requirements for the development and maintenance of Advancement reporting and analytical resources.

    3. Maintain and update project management platform to ensure reports are provided to division and campus partners in a timely manner.

    4. Retire reports and analytics that are no longer needed.

  1. Work with university-level data analysts to develop, support and maintain Advancement reporting and analytical resources.

    1. Interface with campus data scientists on projects, including engagement scoring.

    2. Interface with ACU IT Business Intelligence (BI) group to develop point-in-time reporting and data warehousing solutions.

    3. Write and update SQL reports, Java Script and other web resources to select and manipulate Advancement database data.

    4. Document new and existing Advancement resources, including Visual Studio, CRM Advanced Find, Cognos / Power BI and Tableau.

  2. Partner with the IT Enterprise Infrastructure (EI) group to manage data flow between Advancement systems and other campus or external partners.

    1. Improve data flow within internal Advancement systems (CRM Advance, phonathon, endowment, alumni portal, Hivebrite).

    2. Work with EI group to maintain and improve data interfaces between Advancement and other campus products, including Banner, Slate, SalesForce, and Ellucian Experience, among others.

    3. Work to understand existing data feeds, and explore current and potential API capabilities that could be developed in cooperation with the EI group.

    4. As needed, provide flat data files to external vendors to update external databases. 

Professional Development Requirements
  1. Skills:

    1. Functional knowledge of the following operating systems: Windows.

    2. Database management experience in a relational database management system such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and PL/SQL.

    3. Adept interpersonal and communications skills. This includes the ability to translate computer related jargon into terms understandable to the end-user.

    4. Strong organizational skills.

    5. Ability to keep current with information technology and its application to higher education. This includes participating in conferences and training classes on higher education application software or computer systems

  1. Training Modules Required:

    1. Operating systems utilities and commands courses or equivalent.

    2. Application software and training, including Ellucian CRM Advance, MS SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Developer, Visual Studio, Tableau, Project Management Software, Cognos, Power BI, Postman, XRMToolbox, Anthology/Encompass, and Hivebrite.

    3. Attend occasional out of town conferences and training.

Qualifications  
  1. Professional:

    1. BS or BBA Degree, preferably in Computer Science or Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

    2. Programming, database support, and systems support duties for at least 1 year.

  2. Personal:

    1. Ability to work as a contributing member of the data team.

    2. Good communication skills: oral and written.

    3. Strong people skills: interact with students, staff and faculty.

    4. Strong customer service, organizational, communication and interface skills.

Physical Demands

A. Must be able to work with a computer for extended periods of time

B. Must be able to work occasional extended work hours. This includes responding to telephone calls outside of business hours while maintaining normal work hours.
