| Faculty Position Information |
Basic Responsibilities:
- Provide high quality instruction, direction and support for students in the online classroom environment.
- Participate with the program faculty and Program Director in planning, development, and implementation of program and curriculum.
- Engage in an ongoing research agenda and/or maintaining clinical competency and supervision certification.
Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.
Provide high quality instruction, direction and support for students in the online classroom environment.
- Teach (36) credit hours per academic year, including synchronous Internship and asynchronous non-Internship courses.
- Provide rich and timely feedback on student work, being both encouraging and constructively critical.
- Facilitate class size of up to 24 students.
- Place students in groups for assignments/discussions as required by course.
- Provide timely and helpful answers to students’ inquiries regarding course material or academic matters.
- Conduct required synchronous interaction sessions.
- Facilitate and grade all assignments in a timely manner.
- Enter final course grades in Banner system.
- Alert Senior Program Director or Associate Program Director to any student issues. This includes performance issues (e.g. failing grades, failing to turn in assignments, etc.) and policy violation issues (e.g. plagiarism).
- Engage in andragogically sound teaching methods designed for an adult learner.
- Comply with all pertinent policies and procedures outlined in Abilene Christian University’s Handbook, Faculty Handbook, and those specified by ACU’s College of Health and Human Services and the Program.
- Other duties, as assigned and directed by the Senior Program Director.
Participate with the program faculty and Senior Program Director in planning, development, implementation of program and curriculum.
- Provide feedback to Senior Program Director for program and/or course improvement.
- Participate in program and faculty meetings.
- Attend/complete program and CGPS faculty trainings and provide credentialing/records updates as required.
- Represent university at conferences as able and as directed by Senior Program
Director.
Engage in an ongoing research agenda and/or maintaining clinical competency and supervision certification.
- Develop and maintain an ongoing research agenda in the context of the scholarship of teaching and learning.
- Gain and maintain knowledge of trends and information pertaining to program field through current practice, professional reading, active research and/or continuing education.
- Participate in clinical and/or scholarly activities designed to maintain credentialing in the field of marriage and family therapy.

Physical Demands:
- Majority of work is performed in front of a computer and on the telephone; must have the ability to use the computer and remain stationary for long periods of time.
- Manage conversations in person, online and by telephone.
- Work well under pressure and manage stress well.
- Communicate clearly: speak, read, write, and hear clearly to perform essential functions.

| Qualifications |
Professional
- Terminal degree in marriage and family therapy.
- Current and unencumbered licensure as a marriage and family therapist.
- Current AAMFT-Approved Supervisor or Candidate.
- Evidence of quality research completed in the last ten years [e.g. publications in peer reviewed journals, conference presentations, program evaluation reports, etc.].
- Instructional experience and working in a team environment, including in an online environment preferred.
- Computer literate in software and internet based applications.
- Proficient in APA style.

- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to view and manage role and responsibilities in relation to larger mission, goals and perspective of the University.
- Collaborative nature, with the ability to build consensus.
- Outstanding organizational and project management skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines.

- Willingness to receive additional training and/or faculty mentoring.
