Basic Responsibilities

A. Serve as main point of contact for daily facility and maintenance needs for all athletics facilities, coaches and staff.

B. Serve as athletics representative when meeting with all campus and outside vendor contractors/trades.

C. Provide support to department leadership and game operations staff to support the supervision and oversight of all athletic facilities, including facility reservation requests, facility rentals, contracts and insurance.

D. Assist in other departmental and university wide projects and initiatives as necessary. 

Essential Duties

A. Serve as main point of contact for daily facility and maintenance needs for all athletics facilities, coaches and staff.

  1. Ensure all athletic facilities are prepared and ready to host and operate events at a high level.
  2. Be responsive to coaches and staff phone calls regarding daily facility requests.  

  3. Submit, track and ensure completion of work orders.

  4. Assist in daily facility scheduling. 

  5. Set up for athletic events, on and off campus, including tables/chairs, parking signs, ticketing and replay systems, etc. 

  6. Have thorough understanding of all facility functions including lights, scoreboards, replay, audio/visual, etc.

  7. Have knowledge of and commitment to NCAA, WAC Conference and University guidelines for Athletic contests.

  8. Oversee operations of other games and events hosted at ACU facilities.

  9. Maintain accurate and detailed records (including some financial), checklists and other documents as it relates to game operations.


B. Serve as athletics representative when meeting with all campus and outside vendor contractors/trades.

  1. Consult with university facilities and operations department to submit work orders, take bids, discuss options and provide solutions.
  2. Meet with outside contractors and provide project management to small facility maintenance and enhancements projects.
  3. Regularly walk facilities and provide proactive solutions to deferred maintenance needs. 

C. Provide support to department leadership and game operations staff to support the supervision and oversight of all athletic facilities, including facility reservation requests, facility rentals, contracts and insurance.

  1. Assist with the management of all athletic facility scheduling/requests and determine priority on behalf of the department.
  2. Work with risk management and legal services to ensure appropriate levels of insurance are provided by outside groups.
  3. Ensure appropriate departmental fees are charged and staffing assigned to protect the interest of the institution.
  4. Work with other University Departments in the managing of all athletics facility’s calendars.
  5. Generate revenue by booking and hosting outside events. Maintain accurate record keeping for revenue and expense purposes. 

D. Assist in other departmental and university wide projects and initiatives as necessary. 

  1. Assist with outside events, including UIL spring meet.
  2. Assist in creation of facilities maintenance master plan.
  3. Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

A. Assist in the hiring and training of part-time workers for athletic events.

B. Prepare work schedules and assignments for interns and student workers.

Qualifications

A. Professional

  1. Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
  2. Experience in sports administration, game operations/event management, or business operations, with a strong skill in at least one area.

B. Personal

  1. Strong Christian beliefs and values.
  2. Ability to establish and nurture strong relationships.

  3. Proactive attitude and approach to daily work, a team player. 

  4. A high degree of self-motivation.

  5. Understanding of college athletics at the NCAA Division I level.

  6. Commitment to quality and excellence.

 

Physical Demands

A. Ability to endure long hours of work.

B. Extended periods of walking and climbing stairs.

C. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

D. Ability to lift tables and chairs to arrange events.

E. Work nights and weekends from September through May.

F. Possible exposure to weather extremes.

G. Ability to endure extended periods of sitting and typing at a computer.
