Faculty Position Information   The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Abilene Christian University invites applications for a non-tenure track college assistant or associate professor beginning Fall 2020. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching. Applicants must have at minimum of an M.S. in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field. Review of applications will begin 01/6/2020 and will continue until the position is filled.

The college faculty member teaches approximately 30 hours during the academic year. Depending on the applicant’s credentials, the new faculty member will likely teach Science for Elementary teachers, General chemistry lecture and/or lab, Introductory Chemistry lecture and/or lab, and Organic lab.

The mission of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is to prepare students for careers in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical education, and health professions by displaying high professional standards and by modeling Christian values, leadership, and service.

Qualifications Applications must include (1) a letter of interest, (2) a curriculum vitae, (3) an essay describing your philosophy of teaching and learning, (4) a separate essay describing the relationship of faith and Christian worldview to teaching and learning, (5) a separate essay concerning your personal spiritual journey, (6) copies of transcripts for all academic work, and (7) at least three letters of recommendation with the recommender's contact information. One must be a letter of recommendation from a church leader and at least two must be academic letters of recommendation. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
