Basic Responsibilities A. Assist in strategic planning for the Springboard program
B. Provide resources to students starting or managing a business
C. Manage the competitions, events and other resources targeting the community
D. Manage program’s external relationships
E. Other duties as assigned
Essential Duties

A. Assist in strategic planning for the Springboard program
1. Work with the Director of the Griggs Center in developing and updating a strategy and plan for the Springboard program.

B. Provide resources to students interested in starting a business
1. Serve as the primary point of contact for students interested in starting a business or currently managing a business
2. Provide or arrange for appropriate resources (e.g., coaching and mentoring) of students in the program
3. Maintain regular communication with and track progress of each student or student team in the program

C. Manage the competitions, events, and other resources targeting the community
1. Manage the annual Springboard competition
2. Coordinate networking events for local entrepreneurship community

D. Manage program’s external relationships
1. Solicit local businesses and organizations as sponsors
2. Recruit and manage judging process for Springboard competitions
3. Recruit individuals to serve as mentors or provide expertise in certain areas to students in Springboard program
4. Communicate with all external stakeholders as needed to maintain their support and involvement

Professional Development Requirements

A. Skills
1. Strong organization skills
2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
3. Competence with basic software packages (e.g., word-processing, spreadsheets)

B. Training Modules Required
1. Computer software training as updates demand.

Qualifications

A. Professional
1. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required (a BBA is preferred)
2. Ability to organize strategic planning and budgeting procedures
3. Ability to interact with and promote program to students and community members

B. Personal
1. Strong interpersonal communication skills.
2. Ability to work and interact well with students
3. Self-motivated, resourceful and creative

Physical Demands A. Able to stand for extended periods of time.
B. Able to sit at a computer for extended periods of time.
C. Able to sit in meetings for extended periods of time.
D. Be available to work evenings and/or weekends on occasion in addition to regular office hours.
